Award-winning scripted Fantasy Adventure podcast THE ONCE AND FUTURE NERD is looking to cast a recurring character.

The Character is a man in his 50s or 60s, trying to live a quiet life after many years of facing violence and doing violence himself. These days, his struggle is to maintain his dignity in spite of a soul-crushing job.

We are especially interested in casting a performer of an Indigenous cultural identity for this role.

Between rehearsals, recording sessions, and pickups/retakes, you should expect a total time commitment of ~4-8 hours per “chapter,” and we hope to record 2-3 chapters per year. All work will be remote (but hopefully simultaneous with other actors) for the foreseeable future. (If you do not have your own home recording setup that is to our specifications, one will be provided to you, if you are cast.) At this time, we’re able to provide actors with a $35 honorarium per chapter.

We are hoping to record one “chapter” in the next few weeks, and then another a few months after that. This Character will feature meaningfully in the first of those, and very significantly in the second. The role is likely (but not certain) to continue beyond that.
