In January 2014, Christian wrote a story for a fantasy writing subreddit writing challenge. This is a slightly revised and expanded version of a story which first appeared on a fantasy writing subreddit, as part of their January 2014 writing challenge. There are several excellent stories in that thread, so it’s definitely worth your time to take a look.

The following events are located in our canon nearly ten years after the assassination of Prince Uther Guernatal, and seven years before Nia of Seahold met General Brennen of Greyfield.
